National Ride to Work Day

Our free community breakfast in Bigge Park, Liverpool was a huge success today, attracting 50 people who cycled to work and a number of participants doing so for the first time. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Special thanks to Baker’s Delight in Casula for supplying the delicious scrolls, loaves, scones and bread – our spread was impressive as a result. Thanks to ABC Bikes for coming along to do bike checks, and thanks also to all the staff (and others) who pitched in. And of course, thanks to everyone for cycling to work – you’ve done a great thing for yourself as well as the environment (this is beginning to sound like an Oscar speech!)

People rode in from all over the city, with some coming from as far as Naremburn on the North Shore, Springwood and Glenbrook in the Blue Mountains, and Mittagong in the Southern Highlands. Participants included staff from Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Water, Liverpool Police Station, Liverpool City Champion and Pacific Brands. Check out the photos from today to see what happened this morning.

50 was our target this year and next year we’ll try and double that! If you want to aim to get involved next year contact us and we’ll steer you in the right direction.
